Not worth the risk

My HP1907, like so many others went to sleep one day and never woke up. 13 1/2 months after purchase. The HP support people were no help unless I paid them $99.00 to begin with. Their website is full of complaints of the same nature and HP will not even acknowledge the problem exists. And for most of the people with the same situation, the monitor lasted a little over a year, just out of the warranty period. If you get a good monitor, it's great, but you could be buying a temporary product and not a long term investment.

Backlight lamp gone after 14 months. Common problem(?).

Cons:Short life. Expensive repair. I'm nervous about the other two now.

I have an HP desk top and purchased this so I would not have compatibility issues.

The monitor keeps going to sleep and the HP help site is worthless. I have to manually change the resolution settings every time I turn my HP desktop on. To make it worse if my computer is not used for a while or I switch users I have to reset the resolution again. I use my computer for a living so this is not a toy for me it is my livelihood.

I probably will never buy HP again. I am not sure why HP did not offer a fix for this since I have researched this issue and so many HP customers have had this problem. This is another example of a large corporation not giving a crap about their products or their customers.

Most reliable monitor I have ever owned.

I have had this monitor for years, and I have moved 3 times since getting it, and it has withstood rough handling, bad weather, high humidity, and the sands of Iraq, and it still looks as good as when I first got it. If you want a sturdy and reliable monitor, I highly recommend this one. And I have used several video cards with it, and the picture is AWESOME. Good job HP.

a bad dud. What they don't tell you.

I'm running photoshop, 3 external hard drives without problems. My only problem is this monitor. They didn't get the bells and whistles figured out. It goes to sleep while one is working. Microsoft has a a special file download for this monitor. I checked the HP site for worthless help. I called their help center and was on the phone for over an hour. They instructed me to take my computor apart and play with the video card. Ha ha. Checked web sites and found other victims afflicted with this device. This thing requires a re-boot of uour system starting from scratch.
