it does what it has to. Later I found you could get it cheaper by using a knock off brand, but those might last less time so happy I spent a little more. This works for the PRS 300 even though it's not labelled as such

A "Must have" for my Sony Reader!

I love my Sony Touch Reader and this charger keeps it conveniently charged and ready for reading or allows me to charge while reading. The cable that comes with the Reader can only be used via a computer which is not always handy. Diane
PS: Another tip: Larger public libraries have ebooks which are compatible with my Sony Touch Reader. I find browsing my local library website and downloading ebooks is very easy and I am able to keep the books in my Reader Library for up to 21 days at no charge.

Also good for the PRS700 model.You can use the Reader while charging with this unit, unlike the USB charger.The unit is Sony's usual good quality at a good price.

The charger for the Sony PSP works on the Reader but is A LOT cheaper.

Sony AC Charger for Sony Reader does not work, No way to return it to Amazon

The charger sold by Amazon, fro the Sony Reader doesn't work. I will not by anything of value from AMAZON again. I will buy locally so I can return defective products.
