Comment: I really can't comment much on the netbook. It's my first so I have nothing to compare it to, but
also have no complaints. It came as described.
However,I was impressed with the promptness of
delivery. The computer was shipped securely and without hassle. I was going back and forth between
two different dealers with comparable prices. Then I looked them up on the BBB website which
influenced my decision to order through Beach Camera. I'm glad I did.

Comment: After receiving the Toshiba N305-310, I pulled it out of the box and turned it on according to the
instructions. I was immediately surprised by how bad the screen quality was! The images were very
fuzzy, and the longer it was on, the pixels appeared to progressively fail and then "shimmer" green
after they died. I tried to adjust the display, but nothing helped. I asked tech support what
could be wrong, and they said it was likely a bad video card. So, I boxed it up and sent it back
for a refund - at least the customer support was good. Even though I doubt this was a common
problem with this computer, I won't be buying another Toshiba as a replacement.

Comment: Just like you, I've read so many reviews and spent a little too much time weighing the pros and cons
of each comparable netbook, but you know what? -- they're all the same!

First you gotta
strip all unnecessary programs that take forever to boot. My first startup with the NB305-310 took
almost 20 seconds for it to totally boot - after stripdown - now less than 10 seconds.
/>It's not just Toshiba, all the other makers will fill up their netbooks with loads of crapware
that you really dont need. So, as long as the specs are all the same, then just buy the least costly
one!

Who cares about brand names and those silly pet peeves like glossy backcovers that
attract fingerprints?! I based my decision on processor, RAM, and batterylife. I didn't care too
much about HDD-size because you can always buy an external HDD, which is the smarter idea anyways in
case your main HDD gets corrupted.

I like my netbook, I find it handy and fits my
objective of portability. Its more convenient than being seated at a desktop rig for hours or having
a huge laptop that always needs to be plugged in and it's definitely more comfortable than browsing
the web thru handheld devices like smartphones or the Sony PSP & DSi.

This gets a
5-star for me because I feel good about my purchase and now looking back at all the time I've wasted
reading reviews and pondering which one i should buy, it was just all a waste of time when i should
have just bought it earlier to enjoy my purchase.

Summary: Overall, a good product.
Comment: I bought this with several projects in mind and I was also preparing for a 3-week European trip,
which is why I wanted something so small. This netbook is as described, around 3 lbs, which is a bit
heavier than most, but the big battery with its long life is the reason for that. It has never
registered at 11 hours, even after being plugged in & charging overnight, so I don't understand
where that claim comes from. Mine registers 100% capacity at 9 hours.

I had the
processor & keyboard in mind when purchasing, and those have not disappointed. The processor is
reliable & fast, on & off the net. I'm usually a Dell customer, but switched for this purchase
because the Dell netbook processors received such bad reviews. The keys are full-size, & is
basically QWERTY.

I also purchased the extra memory & it worked even faster on the web
(it was actually really good with just the initial memory). I have avoided upgrading the software
every time I'm prompted, per the recommendations from many people (and reviews)in order to maintain
speed.

Before purchase, many reviewers mentioned the poor quality of the speakers.
Since that wasn't a feature I imagined using a lot, I didn't mind. Well, the poor quality of the
speakers is actually unbelievable, really, especially given the price. I know where to find the
volume adjustments & even at its highest, it can hardely be heard. It turns out I have wanted to
share online videos on many occasions & the speakers just can't deliver if anyone in the room is
breathing. The normal alerts are barely audible also. I probably wouldn't buy this one again, though
I'm not returning it.
